My Dearest Avery,
My how the year has flown! It's amazing how much you've changed in that short amount of time! You're now 29 inches long, 22 lbs even, and your head circumference is 44.2 cm (which was hard to get because you don't like anything on your head). We've had so much fun with you the past month (plus some)! You've become much more active since you started walking at 11 months. Instead of an official photo, I've got many photos of your birthday party, which Grandpa Mark was able to come down and enjoy with us. Here they are:

We had fun but his trip was way too short....until next time! We also did some family trips recently....we went to the zoo and the children's museum (and several parks):

We also took a trip to Boston the week after your birthday (mommy had to work and daddy and you wanted to play)....

Avery, we are having a blast with you. You are spunky and sweet and everything we could've dreamed of and more. You love to dance to any music you hear, you love playing in your ball pit and pulling DVDs down from their shelf. You have also started following dad and me around the house - it's so cute and we love it. You don't like it when we change your diaper, brush your teeth, mess with your hair, or put you in the car seat. You said "no" back at daddy when he was telling you "no" and we're claiming that to be your first word (and talking back at your dad, bad girl)! You've said dada and mama (but only when you REALLY want your mom). You're one tough, assertive, and adorable baby girl. Dad and I just hope we're up to the challenge for whatever the next year brings us!
