My Dearest Avery,
What a month it has been! Here is your official 8 month photo:
You have developed so much in the past month, it's starting to scare me - please slow down my little baby! You started to crawl over Christmas weekend, with your first real substantial crawl on December 28. Immediately after you figured out you could do that, you started to pull up to a standing position on anything and everything you possibly could (your crib, the megabloks table, my leg, etc).
Found you! |
Now you can get to your toys on your own! |
December was filled with exciting events, like holiday parties, going to Winterhaven, and opening Hanukkah and Christmas gifts. I think you love your riding elephant and your megabloks table the most but you're enjoying all of the many gifts you received from Santa, your dad and me, and the rest of your doting family.

You fell asleep waiting for Santa |
On our way to see what Santa left... |
He definitely ate some of his cookies and drank some milk... |
Jackpot! |
Your stocking! |
You were definitely a good girl this year! |
Thank you Aunt Megan and Uncle Adam! |
Thank you Aunt Chris! |
Grandma Gail and Grandpa John came to see you for Christmas! You were so happy to play with them! |
Thank you Uncle John! |
So many decisions....you were really spoiled by your loving family this Christmas! |
Riding your elephant from Grandma Dotty and Grandpa Mark - we'll tell you later why this is so ironic but you LOVE riding your elephant! |
Checking out the Marana town lights |
And Winterhaven lights! |
You loving your big girl chair |
You also expanded your pallet this month. You like carrots and prunes and pears, but you can't stand sweet potatoes - you actually shivered when I tried to give you more! You also started using a sippy cup and while you're not good at using it yet, nor do you understand that gravity can help you get what you want out of it, you're a trooper and let mom and dad experiment with it! The new food has upset your tummy a bit and it's caused some middle of the night wake-ups but your body is getting the hang of it!
You sneezed when dad was bringing a spoon of green beans to you...you thought it was so funny! |
Your favorite color appears to be orange because that's the toy color you alway go for. You're also a very social baby - loving to interact with others, especially other babies!
I also caught a lot of great moments with your dad this month....
Just chillin'! |
He didn't want to sneeze and wake you up |
Did I mention you LOVE bathtime? Dad is always the one bathing you and you have a blast playing with your toys in the water. You actually crawl to the bath and try to get in during the day and even though we let all the water drain out of the tub before getting you out, you always scream and cry because you don't want to leave the tub! |
Dad, thinking he's got this bathing thing figured out. |
Waiting for Mommy in Chipotle |
Sleepy baby hanging out with dad |
You're a quick learner |
Pre-Christmas chillin' |
Mommy had to go to work early so Daddy took some pics before taking you to school |
Apparently you're a fan of Sports Center! |
Adorable! |
Overall it was a great and busy holiday month - you were busy growing too, as usual!
Sitting like a big kid in the grocery cart (although I think daddy likes wearing you more) |
Very seriously considering the OJ and Eggnog options for Christmas day |
Go State! K-State played in their bowl game the week after Christmas (we lost but you were a good cheerleader)! |
I can't believe you're already eight months old! Where has the time gone?!?! I love every second of it and wouldn't change it for the world...you're the best baby ever (I might be a tad biased).
All my love,
Mom
